THE COLLECTION
Some things
deserve another

The Great Plains Film & Sound Archive preserves the movies, music, broadcasts, venues, printed art, equipment, and ordinary objects that shaped popular entertainment across the Midwest. Its collections reach beyond celebrated classics. They include neighborhood theatres, drive-in screens, local broadcasts, touring bands, regional recordings, late-night horror marathons, promotional artwork, ticket stubs, projection logs, and films remembered more vividly than they were ever reviewed.
Some materials arrive carefully cataloged. Others turn up in theatre basements, radio-station closets, record collections, and cardboard boxes saved because someone could not quite bring themselves to throw them away.
The Archive gives those materials another life through screenings, exhibitions, publications, reproductions, apparel, and objects made to be carried back into the world.
Not every title became famous.
That does not mean it should disappear.
Restored imperfectly. Remembered vividly.
ARCHIVE SERIES
The Projectionist's Log Journal
The official journal of the Orpheum Projection Booth Collection, created in recognition of the people, routines, and working materials that kept neighborhood movie houses running night after night.
The films appeared on the screen. Behind them were screening schedules, cue marks, maintenance checks, equipment notes, reel changes, handwritten reminders, and projectionists who knew when something sounded wrong before anyone in the audience noticed. The Projectionist’s Log draws from that working history while remaining useful as a journal, notebook, film record, or place to keep the details of whatever you are trying to keep in motion.
